RESEARCH BY KAREN IVEY HERNDON

I started working on my family history in 2014 to record my nearest living relatives, and it has turned into an increasingly avid curiosity to find out more about my 3rd great-grandfather, Gideon Towns, to looking for distantly related cousins.

My initial research started by piggybacking off the research from a couple of my Ivey cousins on ancestry.com.  I have now expanded to comparing data through FamilySearch.org and Wikitree.com.  My ultimate goal is to compile a self-printed book to share with my cousins.

I try to include sources when available, if a source is not attributed, it is more than likely hearsay.  I have also tried to "privatize" living person's data.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or would like to add/edit any information (please quote any sources you may have for your information).  My email address is listed below (NOTE:  you must remove the # characters from the address before you send the email).

Parents of Gideon Towns

I have chosen to begin my research starting with Gideon Towns, my 3rd great-grandfather and his descendants.  There are plenty of trees online that show the parentage and ancestry of Gideon Towns, however, I prefer to keep my tree limited to these 4 generations at this time.
